Progressive Presses

Presses for progressive dies are used for production of medium to smaller size sheet metal (semi)products. The technological requirements for part production is mainly assigned “by the part itself” and progressive die installed in the press.

Presses for progressive dies are designed to be very stabile and firm. The slide is well adjusted, guided on 8 points, reinforced and balanced to give extra stability and support to the progressive die installed. With that the straightness and vertical parallelism is achieved. All conditions for producing even the most challenging parts are obtained.

Presses for progressive die (also known as progressive stamping tool) are certainly to be additionally equipped with decoiler, and feeder, mostly also with straightener.

PROGRESSIVE DIE METHOD AND PRODUCTION

The method of progressive die (tool) is based on production of the part being progressively deformed from stage to stage in the progressive die. Throughout this process the part is pushed through the progressive die by the feeder.

Progressive die production method and process is similar to production method used in presses for transfers and transfer dies with exception, that in progressive die, the part is separated from the coil in the final stage of (semi)part deformation. The coil is pushed through the die, being controllably deformed step by step by the die. Throughout this process the coil is step by step becoming the part being produced.

Transfer Presses

Presses for transfer dies (tools) are used for the production of small to medium sized sheet metal (semi)products. The technological requirements for part production are mainly assigned “by the part itself” and the transfer dies mounted in the press.

The slide of the specific press for transfer dies can also be made out of cells welded together into one reinforced slide. Each of the cells (the number of cells is equal to the number of transfer dies) can provide the required technological adjustments specific to each of the transfer dies needed for part production. Transfer presses are fed with blanks of sheet metal produced with a blanking press line. Usually the feeding of the presses for transfer dies is automated with a destacker, or a robot, but sometimes the presses are additionally equipped with a decoiler and feeder, in order to loosen inner tension of the coil being used when that is important, straightener can be added between the decoiler and feeder into the production line.

The press with mounted transfer tools is fed with separated sheet metal blanks that can be produced separately from the production line or with a blanking station constructed as a part of the press. This way feeding the press from the coil is possible.

TRANSFER DIE METHOD AND PRODUCTION

The method of production with transfer dies (tools) is based on production of the part being progressively deformed in separate transfer dies mounted in one press. Throughout this process the part is transported from die to die with a transferring device called transfer. Transfer die production method and production process is similar to the production method used in presses with progressive die with the exception, that in presses mounted with transfer dies, the part is separated from the coil at beginning of (semi)part deformation. The part is transferred from die to die by the transfer, being controllably deformed step by step by many dies. Throughout this process the transferred blank step by step becomes the part being produced.
